#964 John Fortune
The Board of Control met to discuss incidents at a BriSCA F2 race meeting at Crimond on 27 September 2009.
- The Board found Fortune guilty of hitting a stationary car after red flag (third offence) 3 months ban from racing.
- The Board found the Fortune was guilty of aggressive behaviour towards #854 Robbie Dawson, but not guilty of physical violence, however the Board also felt that had Dawson not approached Fortune whilst he was in his car not once but twice then the situation would not have developed further, however cannot condone the actions of Fortune and as such have no option other than to hand Fortune the statutory 12 months ban for aggressive / violent conduct, with 6 months suspended for a period of two racing seasons 2010 & 2011. It was also concluded that Dawson must appear before the Board in person, to explain his evidence.
- The Board found Fortune guilty of speeding in the pits and issued a 3 months racing.
Fortune is suspended from racing he has been given two 3 month bans to run concurrently with his six months ban from racing, he can return to racing in April 2010, with the further six months suspended for two years.
