Carburettors - Important
At Hednesford on Sunday 14th June 2009, the carburettor on the car of George Turricki was routinely checked, and it was found to have an irregularity with regard to the primary venturi. Turricki was suspended from racing pending a Board of Control meeting. After consulting with the UK Weber importers, they confirmed that this irregularity was the result of a manufacturing defect, and therefore Turricki was released from suspension and allowed to resume racing.
Under Rule 172 - Right of Appeal, BriSCA F2 promoters have now lodged an Appeal against the decision, and have instructed the Technical Officer to suspend Turricki from racing with immediate effect. The Appeal hearing will be heard as soon as possible.
All drivers are advised to check their carburettors to see if they are from the same manufacturing batch - which is numbered 210 06 - as it is believed that all of this batch will have the same defect, and therefore be illegal for use in BriSCA F2 racing, and all other formulae that use the Weber 32/36DGV or DGAV carburettor.
