George Turricki (#186) Appeal

At an Appeal Hearing for the case of an alleged illegal carburettor on the car of 186 George Turricki, a revised penalty was issued:
Turricki was issued with a nine month ban.  He had been suspended from racing for a combined period of 19 days.  The remainder of the ban is to be suspended, in view of the mitigating circumstances surrounding this case - in that Turricki had not been found with an illegal carburettor during a routine engine strip/check - it had been found after the driver had expressly volunteered for the carburettor to be checked, and that the identification number of the carburettor matched that of the batch of carburettors which UK Weber importers had confirmed as featuring an irregularity which resulted from a manufacturing defect.

The sport of short oval racing has been attempting to gather information over a period of many months, and once again, all drivers are urged to check their carburettors to see if they are from the manufacturing batch numbered 210 06 - as carburettors in this batch will have the same defect, and therefore be illegal for use in BriSCA F2 racing.
