2017 Gala Night

BriSCA F2 Gala Championship (formerly known as the Shoot Out Championship)

Birmingham – Saturday 18 November 2017

To avoid any possible confusion with the National Series, the Shoot Out championship has been renamed the Gala Championship.

As in previous seasons, the October grading list will be used for selecting the drivers seeded directly to the championship race; the top points scoring drivers on the list will receive an invitation to take part.  The grid will be supplemented by overseas drivers and the leading finishers in a Last Chance Qualifier, to be run as the first F2 race on the programme.

The championship race will be run as the second F2 race on the night and will carry the usual £1000 prize money for the winner who will have the right to display the orange and white checks for season 2018.  A consolation race and the meeting final will follow.

Following requests from fans and drivers, there will be a change to the format of the last race – the final race of the 2017 season.  This will be a £500 winner takes all race and will be open to all cars – subject to the 36 car track maximum.  Cars will line up three abreast and the race will commence with a clutch start.
