2017 World Of Shale Final

After several discussions with the Mildenhall promotion and whilst considering the considerable comment about the date change of the fixture to Friday 15th September, it is confirmed that the 2017 World of Shale Grand Final will indeed remain as announced on the 15th September.

The World of Shale Consolation Semi Final, will be held at Mildenhall on Saturday 26th August.

It is acknowledged that this relatively late fixture change is regrettable and neither idyllic nor indeed overwhelmingly popular, however, sometimes there has to be a relevancy to commercial considerations as quite simply that is what enables the sport to exist week in week out. Occasionally there do have to be times for give and take and compromise.

It goes without saying that the promotion and BriSCA F2 do value the support and commitment of drivers however there is also a huge level of commitment from promoters running many meetings for the formula that are barely viable and in isolated cases, whilst the outcome of a decision may have merit in not being popular, as on this occasion, we must move forward and take this on board in future planning. We do understand that one or two drivers, due to holiday commitments, may not be able to make the new dates which is regrettable and that has genuinely been part of the consideration process.

Moving forward, the event WILL be staged on Friday 15th September - start time and other details will be communicated following the final World of Shale qualifying round at Sheffield on Sunday 6th August.

By the 9th August qualifying drivers and those further down the list will receive communication requesting your confirmation as to whether you can / or cannot attend the re staging date, by 6.00pm on Monday 21st August. No confirmation of attendance will be taken as you are 'not attending' and a Final grid of those available will be announced mid week w/c 21st August together with sufficient reserves. Whilst understanding feelings, we really do urge as many of you as possible to support the rescheduled fixture.

Whilst we understand that there is some emotion, we genuinely urge you to support the re staging date if you can. 21st IS the final date to confirm availability so, please, confirm or otherwise by then. A change of heart AFTER that date when the revised grid has been published will be 'too late' as re-entry will not be permissable as those drivers will be confirmed their place on the grid.
