Final countdown to RDC’s Another Wild Weekend and BriSCA F2 Stockcar World Final

We are now just days away from what is set to be a truly historic weekend in our sport with Another Wild Weekend at Mildenhall Stadium on Saturday, September 10 (5pm) and Sunday, September 11 (1.30pm) headlined by the BriSCA F2 Stockcars World Championship and also featuring the all Granada National Banger meeting and National Banger Hot Shots Championship and Saloon Stockcars EA Championship.

It is set to be a truly massive weekend of racing with the best part of 250 drivers expected in action with over 100 BriSCA F2 Stockcars drivers for the weekend with almost 100 for the World Final meeting itself on Saturday, nearly 100 National Banger drivers across the weekend and with news at the weekend that over 30 Saloon Stockcars are booked in for the weekend this has the makings of being a quite huge two days of racing with 26 races scheduled (likely to be more as we are anticipating having two BriSCA F2 Stockcar consolations on both days).

We are also very pleased to offer this weekend to fans at what we truly believe are hugely value for money prices, adult admission being £20 on Saturday and £15 while a family ticket is just £46 on Saturday and £36 on Sunday. Not only do these prices include all of the weekend’s racing which includes one of the sport’s biggest races but it also includes car parking, overnight camping for those staying at the stadium for the weekend and a very special souvineer programme which is a 40 page A4 magazine style effort (subject to availability). We truly believe that all together this weekend offers some of the best value you will find in our sport and value likely to never be seen anywhere again so we sincerely hope these prices will allow as many of you as possible to join us this weekend and make it as special as it promises to be.

The biggest event of the season for the BriSCA F2 Stockcars looks set to live up to the billing with a truly massive entry of cars which is on course to be the best entries seen in the formula in well over a year and it is an entry bursting with quality as well with no less than 11 reigning champions of the sport set to compete over the weekend as well as leading drivers from across the UK and Ireland and Holland as well in what many are saying could be the most unpredictable BriSCA F2 Stockcar held since the last time the race was run at Mildenhall Stadium 10 years ago with 37 contenders and the majority tipped as potential winners in a race where truly anything could happen.

And it’s not just the World Final that BriSCA F2 fans have to look forward to this weekend. Thanks to the wonderful backing of our sponsors for the weekend we have a greatly enhanced prize fund across the two days which includes a massive boost to the two Grand Finals on the weekend which will carry the same prize fund as some of the sports major championship races and with £545 in total on each race and the winner picking up a £200 prize these are races every driver will be desperate to be a part of, the Saturday night Grand Final having the added bonus of carrying the annual Alan Benson Trophy.

The weekend is set to start in fine fashion as race one of the weekend will see a scheduled field of over 30 battle for the remaining six places in the World Final in the Consolation Semi-Final race which is also a star studded field with a pair of ex World Champions on the front row and a third not too far behind, make you arrive in good time for the 5pm start time on Saturday as the consolation semi-final race has the potential to be a show stealer this weekend.

As well as the big money Grand Final on Sunday afternoon, the F2 programme once again is set to start in style with our special tribute race to #623 Rob Dobie whose ’25 years of getting in your way’ will be celebrated on Sunday and a unique white grade based heat which also has additional prize money to the weekend’s other heat races and this unique format will have an impact on the remainder of the heats which will of course have a higher concentration of graded drivers with intention of all the white grade drivers being in the first heat.

And the F2 programme is set to conclude in style as well with the annual O’The Border Trophy in the Grand National which thanks to kind sponsorship from the Fortune family will see the winner receive a total of £125 and we are sure this will help make this a great conclusion to the World Final weekend for the BriSCA F2 Stockcars.

Of course while the BriSCA F2 Stockcars are the headline attraction of the weekend, the weekend is about much more than just the F2s with two full days of National Banger and Saloon Stockcar racing with both formulas just as capable of taking top billing on the weekend. The all Granada National Banger meeting is one of the highlights of our season and with over 50 drivers expected this promises to be no different while the Hot Shots Championship is one of the year’s most underrated affairs and the last two stagings of this meeting have been hugely action packed while with over 30 Saloon Stockcars booked in for their EA Championship, they too have the potential to deliver some tremendous racing this weekend.

We would like to remind everyone heading for Mildenhall Stadium this weekend that there is also greyhound racing on Friday (September 9) night with the first race at 7.45pm if you are heading to the raceway ahead of the weekend and overnight camping is available at the stadium Friday evening as well as Saturday (and Sunday) and again is included in the admission price and if you are joining us Friday or are hoping to be at the stadium early Saturday please remember the first event of the weekend is the overseas lap times for the BriSCA F2 Stockcar world finalists from Ireland and Holland and is scheduled to start at 12noon.

Once again you can find everything you need to know about the weekend on our dedicated Another Wild Weekend page of the website (http://www.steamin.in/RDC/F2WorldFinal.htm) which boasts our massive meeting preview, the full driver entry lists (we hope to update these lists one final time later in the week with any changes), our detailed World Final preview, interviews with many of the World finalists and much more and we would like to take this opportunity in advance to thank everyone for their tremendous support for the weekend.
