Update - June 22nd
As promised we have continued to accept bookings for the Saturday, July 30 BriSCA F2 meeting at Mildenhall which is the first night of RDC’s One Wild Weekend and can now confirm this meeting is fully booked save the remaining places available for overseas entries.
While we very much regret ever having to limit numbers in any formula and turning any driver away, with July’s One Wild Weekend being one of our most popular events of the season, as well as the only time we have National Bangers, Saloon Stockcars and F2s on the bill at the same time we have to realistic about what we can we complete inside our strict Saturday night curfew. Even with the Saturday night meeting starting at 6pm in 2010 we still had to postpone a race from Saturday over to Sunday and we are keen to not have that happen again this season.
We would again like to stress that the World of Shale qualifier on Sunday, July 31 will be open to all BriSCA F2 Stockcar drivers with no need to book in prior to the meeting (as per usual with RDC) and no limit on numbers. Furthermore drivers racing on the Sunday only are welcome to stay in the pits/car park Saturday night ahead of Sunday’s meeting.
It is our intention to run a three heat, consolation and final format on July 30 (there will no Grand National) and therefore we will have to insist on a 62 car limit. However of these places have been earmarked for any overseas drivers who have supported this event so well in the past and this is something we are keen to continue this season and again we already have drivers claiming these spots.
Below is the current entry list. Following the June 18 meeting all 52 available places for drivers who had raced at least twice at Mildenhall (there are a couple of exceptions explained below) have been filled. Therefore we have elected not to offer places to anymore drivers for the Saturday night and should we have any shortfall on the night we may be able to run a two heat format (if we have 56 or less cars we will run two heats and not three) which we believe maybe to the benefit of the meeting.
We would also like to add that 209 Carl Pears and 905 Rob Mitchell have been granted a booking as they raced a BriSCA F2 Stockcar on April 9 and a Reliant Robin on May 28 and this has been counted as their second meeting. Furthermore 631 Ron Ferguson from Scotland has been granted one of the 10 places available for overseas drivers, supported by the fact he attended this meeting in 2010 and visited Mildenhall last weekend. Additionally an invitation was made during the June 18 to drivers racing at Mildenhall for the first time this season to have one of the few remaining spaces available on July 30 as a thank you for supporting the meeting despite the dire forecast and conditions on the night. 342 Ross and 345 Gary Taylor accepted this invite and completed the 52 available spaces. So far we have four confirmed overseas (including Scottish) drivers booked in.
