Message from RDC Promotions
Following the cancellation of the June 17 fixture at Mildenhall Stadium, RDC Promotions have confirmed some changes to the next visit from the BriSCA F2 Stockcars which takes place at RDC’s One Wild Weekend on July 28 and 29.
Our original intention was to limit entries for the Saturday night fixture to 56 cars allowing for a two heat, consolation and final format with a Grand National to be added if time allowed while Sunday afternoon’s World of Shale qualifier would be open to all drivers.
However with the cancellation of the June 17 combined with the mistake which meant there was no racing for the formula as we had hoped on June 9, we wanted to try and make it up in some way to the dedicated BriSCA F2 Stockcar drivers and fans who have now gone without racing at the Suffolk shaleway since May 12.
Therefore the decision has been made to open bookings on July 28 to 75 cars and the format has been expanded from two to three heats and from one to two consolations. However with these extra cars and races we must stress there will not be a Grand National on Saturday but there will be one (or two if needed) on Sunday.
We appreciate this decision will be of little consolation to those drivers who had already been offered and had accepted a booking for July 28 but we hope it may be of benefit to others. Since making this decision last week we have tried to contact as many of the drivers who were booked in for June 17 but were not on our list for July 28 and have offered them a place as well as those who had previously asked about a booking for the weekend event.
This means we now have 66 drivers booked in for July 28 and just nine places remaining which are now open to all drivers on a first come, first serve basis. Drivers are encouraged to book in either by e mailing wastedmc@btopenworld.com or phoning the RDC website on 01268 412299 (ideally between 9am and 12noon Monday to Friday). Bookings for the World of Shale qualifier on July 29 remain unlimited and all drivers are welcome and there is no need to book in prior to the meeting for the Sunday fixture.
Furthermore drivers who are listed below but are no longer able to race on July 28 and encouraged to contact us through the same channels. We are hopeful that even with bookings extended we might reach our target and if you can no longer race we might be able to offer your place to another driver.
Finally, owing to the increase in numbers being taken we have changed our meeting format for the Saturday, July 28 fixture and the BriSCA F2 Stockcar heats will now be the first races of the night. The meeting starts at 6pm but depending on the expected number of 2litre RWD Bangers and Saloon Stockcars we may consider running the first F2 Stockcar heat pre meeting at 5.45pm. We will make a decision on this at least a week before the meeting which will be announced on both the RDC and F2 websites but we would encourage where possible an early arrival for all drivers who are reminded the stadium is open for camping from the Friday night where there is greyhound racing at 7.30pm.
