Following some recent accidents and injuries, Brisca F2 has announced that two changes will be made to the F2 Stock Car specification with effect from September 1st 2009. These changes are safety related, and are both scheduled for 2010, but because the recent incidents, have been brought forward to September 1st, which gives all drivers time to correct their cars before the World Final.

Rule 219 Aerofoils: Aerofoils must be mounted in a central position on the car viewed from front or rear, and bottom of the aerofoil sideplates may not be lower than the level of the top of the side window/driver access. 

Rule 212 Floor and Firewall: A vertical steel plate of 3mm thickness must be welded to the top and lower chassis rails to cover the area of the driver footwell. The plate must be fitted on both sides of the car, and must extend from the bulkhead (firewall) back to be level with the front edge of the driver's seat. The plate may not be drilled or lightened in any way.
