European Championship - Technical Issues
During the European Championship weekend at Northampton on 17/18 July, a selection of technical matters were raised by Incarace officials, who were further assisted by Ian Gardiner (BriSCA F2 Technical Officer).
After further investigation, it has been deemed necessary to confirm the following clarifications:
204. Bumpers and Armouring
Diagram 2, as shown on page 39 of the rulebook, is a guide to how the spring guard should be fitted. It is NOT compulsory to have an eye bolt and rubber shackle as the rear fitment. The requirement is as per the wording of rule 204: "The wheelguard must have bolt fixings at both ends to prevent a broken wheelguard falling off the car."
206. Engines
16) Water Pump. It is acceptable for the water pump drive pulley on the crankshaft to be made from aluminium, to be used as "a replacement competition type". The minimum weight of the aluminium pulley is 490g.
215. Batteries
A competition gel battery is considered appropriate, providing it satisfies the size requirements, in that if two batteries are used, they must have a maximum size 038, and if one battery is used, it must have a maximum size 063.
The dilligence of the Incarace officials in bringing these matters to the attention of BriSCA F2 is to be commended.
