Extra incentives up for grabs at future BriSCA F2 meetings
Due to a couple of very impressive statistics taking shape in the BriSCA F2 Stockcars at Mildenhall in the last few meetings, RDC have announced that two special trophies will be up for grabs starting on October 1 for the first driver to win one of the following challenges.
In recent months we have been describing the BriSCA F2 Stockcars as ‘the fastest show on dirt’ at Mildenhall Stadium with lap times sometimes faster than speedway racing at the track. On Sunday, July 31 823 Sam Wagner set the fastest lap time of the year so far with a 13.176second lap in the Grand Final and we have now set the challenge for the first driver to break the 13 second barrier and a trophy awaits the first F2 Stockcar driver to complete a lap of Mildenhall in under 13 seconds. This challenge starts on October 1.
Furthermore we have made a few references to the amazing run of different final winners at Mildenhall in the formula since April 2010 as now the last 14 Grand Finals (not including the 2010 White and Yellow Grade Series Final or World of Shale championship which each doubled up as heat one on the night) having produced 14 different winners.
With that in mind we have a trophy ready and waiting for the first driver to snap the streak. Heading into the English Open Championship on October 1 there are of course 14 drivers in contention for this award and should any of them win the title race they will also receive this trophy. If it is someone who doesn’t appear on the list then we will have 15 contenders when we kick off the 2012 season and this trophy will go to the first driver to win two Grand Finals at Mildenhall since April 2010.
The current contenders for this award are:
52 Pete Robertson (July 25 2010 final winner)
77 John Davies (July 31 2011 final winner)
150 Mark Thomas (May 22 2010 final winner)
186 George Turiccki (April 10 2010 final winner)
326 Johnny Hall (June 12 2011 final winner)
377 Daz Shaw (April 9 2011 final winner)
379 Stu Cayzer (July 24 2010 final winner)
495 John Cayzer (May 21 2011 final winner)
599 Jon Lawrence (July 30 2011 final winner)
606 Andy Palmer (May 1 2010 final winner)
645 James Waters (June 19 2010 final winner)
662 Steve Wycherly (August 28 2010 final winner)
702 Allen Cooper (October 2 2010 final winner)
977 Dave Massey (June 18 2011 final winner)
