Numbers & Averages:-

247 drivers raced in the fifth grading period of 2017, which contained 24 meetings.  The average car attendance across the 22 mainland U.K. meetings was 29.09 and there were 47 different race winners.  In total, 373 drivers have raced in the 2017 season to date.

The Best Attended Meetings for the Period were:-

Mildenhall 22 Jul – 73 cars, Mildenhall 23 Jul – 68 cars, Cowdenbeath 5 Aug – 68 cars, Stoke 12 Aug – 43 cars, Belle Vue 15 Aug – 43 cars, Cowdenbeath 19 Aug – 39 cars.

Drivers with the Best Attendance Record for the Period were:-

2017 Novice Of The Year

The Novice of the Year is open to ‘genuine’ novices, i.e. those who are in their first BriSCA F2 season and who started the season with a white roof.  The novice who has scored the most national points at the end of the season will be the winner of the Novice of the Year title.

Current standings:

629 – 868pts, 142 – 349pts, 325 – 57pts, 398 – 35pts, 348 – 17pts, 342 – 13pts, 113 – 10pts, 660 – 9pts, 819 – 7pts, 540 – 3pt, 71 – 2pts, 222 – 2pts, 209 – 1pt, 338 – 1pt, 416 – 1pt, 614 – 1pt.

The winner will be presented with the Novice of the Year trophy at the NEC in January 2018.  The runner-up and the third place finisher will also receive trophies at that time.

David’s Observations

·        These grades will come into force on 1 September 2017.  The next grading period of season 2017 will run from 21 August to 20 September inclusive.

·        In order to be eligible for downgrading on 1 October 2017, you must race a minimum of three times between 21 August and 20 September and also have raced at least once between 21 July and 20 August.

·        International drivers are shown on the grading list solely for information purposes.  Their positions have no effect on grades.  Points, appearances etc., are from meetings attended, that are on the National Fixture List.
