During post-race technical checks, following the 2024 BriSCA F2 World Championship Final, a number of items related to the engine and its ancillaries on the #127 Matt Stoneman car were found to be not in accordance with the BriSCA F2 car construction regulations, or outside of the permitted tolerances specified. Stoneman was subsequently disqualified from the original declared result.
The car and engine of #560 Luke Wrench, second across the line, were stripped and inspected the following morning, having been securely impounded overnight in the track workshop. All items checked were found to be in accordance with the regulations, and Wrench was duly declared the official winner.
Further checks were subsequently carried out on the cars and engines of #618 Ben Lockwood, and #213 Tom Bennett, and were also found to be in accordance with the regulations.
Official Result:
BriSCA F2 acknowledges the exemplary behaviour of the Stoneman team during the checking procedure, and on being advised of the issues and result, and gives them credit for the way in which they conducted themselves in the situation.
