A message from the Chairman...
With the 2025 season well and truly behind us, drivers’ thoughts turning to winter rebuilds, and promoters and fans looking ahead to 2026, it gives me chance to reflect on the past year as I near the end of my term as Chairman. It’s been a post I’ve held for the last three years, and I now prepare to hand over the mantle to Matt Watson from Buxton Raceway.
I would like to express my thanks to all of you drivers, and your teams, for your commitment to our sport. The quality of the car preparation and presentation has been a real credit to you, especially given the economic times we are in, and to turn out cars, week in week out, to such a high standard, is nothing short of outstanding.
It also goes without saying that we would not be able to go racing without the commitment of the individual Promotions and all their volunteer staff who work hard to ensure everything is in place to allow the racing to continue as it does.
I would like to take this opportunity to make special mention of some of the unsung heroes of our sport who help to keep the Chairman on a straight course and everything running as it should. David Hamar, our Official Grader, puts a great deal of time and effort into gathering all the results and stats to furnish us with our monthly Grades and Championship standings. Graham Bunter, with his work as Licensing Officer, ensures we have weekly updates of drivers who are registered to race, and that you are licensed appropriately to go racing.
I will make special mention of Sharon Blood who looks after our Benevolent Fund and puts a lot of time and effort into raising funds to assist any of you unfortunate enough to sustain an injury during the course of a race meeting. Sharon has done us all proud and resolutely carries on despite her own health challenges.
Talking of fundraising, and although not a BriSCA F2 official, Zoe Simpson-Thomas deserves a mention for all the work she has done in putting together the People’s Trophies series.
Finally, there’s Adrian Blackwell as our Secretary and Chief Technical Consultant. Adrain has been of great assistance over my term in office; the time and effort he puts into the sport you really can’t quantify.
Without the fans, the sport is nothing and so no message would be complete without a thank-you to those coming through the stadium gates to watch our spectacular sport. I hope you would agree that it’s been a feast of entertainment served up in 2025.
That only leaves me to once again thank everyone involved in BriSCA F2 Stock Car Racing, and wish you and your families all the best for the festive season and into the 2026 race season.
Dave Borthwick (Chairman, BriSCA F2 Stock Car Racing)
