European High Stakes With New Grid Position Format

THE SATURDAY STAKES ARE RAMPED UP, AND THE LUCK OF THE DRAW IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER AT EURO WEEKEND!

The European Championship and two days of thrill-packed on-track racing go hand in hand, and for 2026 Spedeworth/Incarace and BriSCA F2 are excited to announce a change in the format for this unique event - coming to a better-than-ever Mildenhall Stadium on June 6th and 7th, with the grid formed like no other event on the calendar!

The headlines:

  • Sunday's big race sees the sport’s seeded top drivers race against Saturday's top scorers
  • Top drivers are no longer just relying on being seeded into the big race, they’ll be counting on all-important points from Saturday’s session
  • The infamous Sunday morning draw remains, with a twist!
  • More to play for, and more competitive action on the Saturday!

Qualifying Procedure:

The qualification procedure will remain unaltered…

  • Minimum of 16 UK seeds from the top of the UK grading list in force at the time of the event
  • Overseas seeded drivers… (i) Northern Ireland, and (ii) Mainland Europe
  • Minimum of 6 highest points-scorers (any nationality), not already seeded in to the event, from the Saturday meeting, up to and including the meeting Final

European Championship Grid Formation:

  • The European Championship grid will be formed by a combination score for each qualified driver, combining points from Saturday’s meeting with a random draw element.

Part 1: Fast and furious battle for points, Saturday

  • This will be a driver’s points total from the Saturday meeting, up to and including the meeting Final, using the standard points for the meeting format employed.

Part 2: The luck of the draw, Sunday

  • This will be a random bonus-points number, starting at 1, up to the number of cars qualified to participate in the race, e.g. 1 to 36 for a 36-car grid.

The Grid: Based on a combined score

  • A driver’s combined score will be the sum of the two elements above. E.g. if a driver scores 17 points on Saturday night, and draws no. 22, then they will end up with a combined score of 17 + 22 = 39.
  • The grid will be formed in Combined Score order, the highest Combined Score taking the pole position, and the lowest being at the rear of the field.
  • A seeded driver who does not score on Saturday night will simply rely on the luck of the bonus-points draw to determine their grid position.
