Dangerous and Irresponsible Driving

Autospeed

Autospeed have published the following on their website in relation to Dangerous and Irresponsible Driving...

For the past seven seasons, BriSCA F2 has accepted that Autospeed take a harder line with drivers who choose not to race in the traditional style expected from the class, but who opt to carry out heavy crashing attacks such as follow-ins. Autospeed have been reassured that there remains the option to penalise a driver on the grounds of Dangerous and Irresponsible Driving.

Consequently, drivers are repeatedly advised that:

  • Autospeed are strict on the issue of Dangerous & Irresponsible Driving.
  • Switching focus in a race, from trying to win, to wrecking another car, may result in a penalty.

In the seven year period, several drivers have been issued with a ‘short, sharp shock’ ban of one month – most recently this has applied to 186 Kasey Jones at St Day on 3rd May and 667 Tommy Farrell on 20th June.

With immediate effect, Autospeed will be increasing the penalty imposed of a ban from one month to three months.
